Yet Another Cheap Blitz Game
Thanks. I think in blitz one makes a lot of moves one may not make given time to think more deeply and often the moves reflect the first idea that comes to mind. I find it interesting how, when I sometimes make a questionable move, my opponent who had been playing pretty decently will make an even more questionable move.
Here's a game where I thought I had an immediate win, but Black disavowed me of that thought. I eventually won, but almost lost on time.
It might be, but it's very hard to be certain enough after 10 sec. of calculation to sac a bishop. That's why I chose to take a safer path. Blitz is funny that way- sometimes you make the most reckless of moves just to momentarily stun your opponent, hoping he gets lost in the maze of choices, other times you avoid complications you can't even see because you're afraid you're overlooking something that should be obvious.
The queen was trapped in the first game after 18..Ne3! She had 11 moves but couldn't save herself :) Not you would've gotten forked up if his internet hadn't gone down just then.
I really don't like 3/0 blitz.
Too often I lose either on time or through some gross blunder, and to me, my moves seem of considerably lower quality than in 5/0. I usualy only play 3/0 when no one wants to play five minute games.
I played the following 3/0 a few minutes ago, and won by some miracle. My opponent was rated slightly lower.

I played this 5/0 game last night. My slightly higher rated opponent disconnected after my 19th move which would win his Queen for, what looks like, free after double check.
