Account removal

Chess.com has 28.421.322 members. That's a lot. But there are a lot members who stopped playing here. Do you ever remove unused accounts after a period of not logging in?

I have a username that i use on multiple sites, but unfortunately it is taken by someone who has logged in 8 years ago for the last time. It would be nice if you clean up your accounts after  i.e.  5 years when someone is not using it anymore.

No, accounts don't get removed. Sometimes staff will rename an abandoned account and make the username avaiable. That has been possible in the past anyway.

You would need to open a ticket to ask.
