Alt accounts allowed?

I have seen a lot of people with  alt accounts, are they allowed? Is it only allowed for titled players?

Endroxity

No!

Ok

What does this even mean? Does it mean only titled players are allowed to have two accounts?

Alramech

You can, but you have to get it cleared with Staff.  And so "us scrubs" generally won't be allowed since we don't have good reasons.

What's up world? Yeah, you! I'm Travis Scott, this is my McDonald's order. Follow me! There's my Quarter Pounder™ with lettuce, pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard, and bacon. (Yeah!) Here's my fries. Sometimes, I do this... then I dip them into barbecue sauce. Oh yeah, and my Sprite. Same order since back in Houston. You could try it too. Gotta go! The Travis Scott meal, just $6. Say Cactus Jack sent you.

Alternative accounts are not allowed under any circumstance. forget the idea of having them. If chess.com finds out one of them will instantly be closed. If you repeat the offense i believe an IP ban can happen pretty quickly.

The only people that can have alts are chess.com staff and titled players. pretty much no one in this thread will ever be either.

Of course, one account per site is ok.

Sometimes the site will allow a second account, but they must be approved by support and are generally for specific reasons. An example is titled players so they can practice without people knowing who they are.

Oh How I wish that were true!

I have evidence to the contrary contained in an e-mail from a support staff member.

There is an SA at this site who violated Fair Play Policy and was restored and given their SA status back.

FPV closures can appeal the closure. It is rarely overturned, but it does happen on occasion. That's the only way that type of closure gets reopened and allowed back on the same account.
