Bug/exploit? I definitely didn't resign!

I closed the window before  I thought to get a screenshot, but take a look at the above game. My opponent had white pieces. After move 14 my opponent sat and ran down the timer for 10 minutes or so. Then suddenly it said I resigned? It also said that my opponent may have violated the fair play policy, which makes me think that he/she somehow exploited the system. I really don't think I hit the resign button, my cursor was nowhere near it. Is this a known bug? I suppose there is a %1 chance that I somehow hit the resignation button, but the message about my opponent violating the fair play policy makes me think that there is more to it. Why would I resign when I could just let him/her run the timer out? Anyway, if you tell me that there is no way for my opponent to force a resignation server side, then I'll accept that I somehow clicked resign and be super careful in the future, but I seriously doubt that happened.

Also had problems tonight - lost three games due to mysterious resignations.  I did not resign in any of them.  Is this a virus or just a bunch of cheaters hanging out on this site?

Next time describe your OS, browser, ISP and device you use (PC, MAC, tablet, whatever). Chess.com requires this info if you request support on stuff like this, so get in the habit of helping others to help you by providing this potentially useful info.

If this turns out to be an isolated incident I suggest forgeting about it and moving on. If it re-occurs or you're still wondering about it contact the staff directly via Help & Support. In the meantime my blog may help you to keep bugs and glitches to a minimum - at least those resulting from bugs and glitches on your end

Appened to me also today, in a game with AlfredNoch that was in a middlegame with tie position (even I would say to my advantage). When today I open chess.com I found the game as if I had resigned!!!

Who did it? Me not.

I'm using a MacBook Pro with Safari and today I've lost a game because of this mysterious resignation. I am sure, that I did not hit the resign button.

Why did it happen?

I've had a look in my archive and now it is clear, that my opponent resigned. The game messages seem to have me confused.
