Hi I was wondering if a 4 player chess.com tournament could have 3 rounds. I have a tournament that I'm doing with only 4 players, and I want it to have 3 rounds. Is that possible?

Yes, they can.

The OP is not referring to the four player chess variant. He is referring to a tournament with four participants.

Whether or not you are sorry about your misinterpretation, it is clear that you aren't sorry yet about all those times you begged me to unblock you. I see you appointed Roger436 as your messenger now happy.png

Wouldn't that just be a round robin? Seeing as how you don't play the same player twice...

chesspilot01

Yeah that was my intention. To have a 3 round robin.

It would actually be more of a quad with colors not pre-determined. Unfortunately, a quad is the only sort of round-robin you can organize on chess.com sad.png

My chess club hosted round robin quads before. I've attended a lot of them.

that chess club increased my regular OTB rating from 1011 to 1366

The automated events have a minimum number of players. Don't recall if it is 4 or 5, though one of those might be for Arenas and the other for Swiss.

The best way to find out is to get four players together to try it.
