'Cancel' button for online chess
Patronizing wink - touché.
if you move quickly enough you can yank the LAN cable out and effectively cancel your move.
hope this helps. LOL
here is another suggestion. use the analysis board to think about your next move THEN only submit on the actual board. it will help prevent 'accidentally' submitting wrong moves.
If the cancel button doesn't take back a committed move, then it's pretty much functionless. If you don't 'submit' the move, it doesn't happen anyway, so the cancel button just makes the control panel over-complicated. Shouldn't it be removed? Save debate. If people are really unsure, they should use the analyse tab.
By the way, surely latest comments should appear at the top of the comment list? No-one's going to sift through 200 pages to see the current opinions on an issue...
@leewestwood: One may navigate directly to the last page in a topic. If a topic has many posts, one might choose to peruse the first page or two to get an understanding of the topic, then go directly to the last page to see the most recent posts. Understanding the context and progression of the topic is easier if they are posted in the order in which they were written.
And don't call me lazy because I've put much more work into this thread than you.
