can’t find the gift voucher function

I’m wanting to get a membership for a friend and searched for gift vouchers in the help tool. It took me to a page that seemed to be what I wanted but when I clicked the link it took me to the page for me to sign up not for another person. Can someone point me to the right page please? And have other people had success with this process? I can see a number of people have had problems. Thanks.
If your friend is a member, and on your friends list, you just need to visit their profile page and click on the big blue "gift" button. I'm sure there are other ways to do it, but that's likely the easiest (and the only one I know 
).

That's the other way and the link on that page can be used while logged out as well if wanted.
Thanks for your responses but there is no gift button on my friends profile that I can see. He is currently on a free account which he would have signed in to through a browser rather than the app. Could that be the issue?
And for the second solution, that was the page I had seen, but the ‘click here’ link does not go to the gift page as described. It just goes to the create account page. There is no search for username option. I am on iPhone. Could that be the issue? Thanks again.

All I know about the mobile apps is that they seem to be subsets of the full browser experience. Wish I could help further. I'd suggest you find a PC somewhere if I thought that wouldn't annoy you...
