Can't you ban this guy?

So I was playing with someone named ****.

The game was "equal" as far as material, but really I was ahead.

He offered a draw and said "accept the draw or you will have to wait".  You can see all of it, everything he said is in the chat, and this proves that he wanted to waste my time in a lost position, rather than hit the resign button.

Can you please close this guy's account?

Yeah I know I'll get a silly message saying that he may have violated the fair play policy or whatever, but the proof is in the chat, this should result in an instant perma-ban for this type of behaviour.

There should be a place to send appeals so I don't have to waste forum space.  But I don't know if this place exists or where it is.

In my experience so far, i've had a much better experience against this kind of stuff on a different chess website/program (I won't mention the name) that charges less than the Gold membership here.

If you want chess.com to be succesful, I think this is a pretty important issue, and I think chess.com could be doing a lot better.

Here is the link to the game:

I don't think it actually shows the chat though.

It is annoying and unsportmanlike, but you are going to find players like that everywhere.  Next time, pour some lemonade, sit back, relax and enjoy as your rating goes up when he finally loses the game. Laughing  And rest assured that you will most probably be a much stronger player than any of these buffoons in future! Laughing

This happens when you play people who do not realize that chess is a gentlemen's game.  They want to win at all costs and make you wait out the clock rather than resigning and congratulating the victor with a "gg" message, as any gentleman would do.  This has happened to me a lot, but usually my oponent just leaves the game or refuses to move; no one has ever offered me to either accept the draw or wait. That is outrageous and takes cheating to a new level.

exactly.

if someone disconnects in a position that is perhaps equal but maybe lost, then you have to be careful not to ban them incase they disconnected for a good reason.  But when they threaten that you accept the draw or wait (when they are 150 points lower than you) then its pretty pathetic.

If I worked at chess.com I would hand out perma-bans to anyone who did this.  If they simply disconnect then maybe you give them a few chances.
