Chess not in real time?

Hi,

I new here. Forgive me if already asked. Can I play chess remotely with my daughter, but not a continuous game.

Meaning, can we save our game, and log in or out to stretch a game over weeks or months?

Thanks

You can do that with correspondence chess. There isn't a feature to save a live chess game though, partly because of the possibility of nefarious hijinks.

If we can't save, does that mean we have to keep computers booted and online continuously for, say, a month?

No. All games are stored on the chess.com server not on your computer. My point is that you cannot resume a live chess game where you left off. However you can do exactly this with a correspondence game. Take a look at this page which should have everything you need to know.

Thanks ... seems we can do it so long as someone makes a move every 14 days.
