yes you sort of can, but it is surely not optimized for this. If the app just could have a version, or even a third party mod, it would be really awesome. the point is quick easy to play games on the go.

The number of devices using the app that have such a screen makes it highly unlikely for the site to dedicate code to support it
Greetings! Surely there is another human out there who has thought about the enjoyable possibility of playing quick chess games on the squareish cover screen of flip 5. Only one problem: chess.com app REFUSES to open in portrait mode on cover screen. It will only open in landscape (this, by the way, is through the good lock widget launcher) mode. Which means, the board is microscopic. So much wasted real estate! Has anyone out there found a solution? Ive tried the 'rotate to portrait' apps and the 'i ❤️ Galaxy foldable roate with the best' option. Please help!
