Safari on a Mac or Safari on Windows ?

I've recently installed the chess.com toolbar which is very useful and saves a lot of time entering addresses etc. the only problem is that whenever i open safari the original favourites tab thing (you know what i mean if you have safari) just disappears and whenever opening a new window it starts out as tiny. anybody else experienced this issue or know how to resolve it?
