This would actually be nice sometimes. Can't think of a reason not to have it.
Conditional Move Idea...

We don't have this yet, but have been thinking of adding some new conditional move features. Will keep thsi in mind.

I hope we get them on app soon; its a common request.
Great, that’s good to hear!

Superb! The lack of conditional moves in the app is the reason why I always switch to the browser for my games.

I CORRECTED A STAFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The hope dies last? Any progress on this or did you abandoned this project?
Any headway on the ANY move option for conditional moves? its like only been 5+ years... lol...
If it is there and I have not tried it, then I apologize. lol.
I hope it never gets implemented. If people are too busy to play once every 1/2/3/N days, then it's nice to know that they have to manually program every single possibility.

Why so hostile against the idea? Conditional moves don't release you from playing your next moves in time, so I don't understand what do you mean by "people are to busy to play…"
From my understanding it is only polite to program your next move(s) if you already know your answer to specific moves you expect from your opponent. Especially if there are forced exchanges, it is tedious to wait 1/2/3/N days for the next capture.

Waiting is part of the daily format. If a player can't deal with that then they should switch to shorter time controls.

Of course is "waiting part of the daily format". That's why I play it. I've got time and my opponent has got his time. But if you choose a 3 days format, you don't have to wait three days to make your own move. Why should I let my opponent wait longer if I've already decided what I want to do?

It should take about 1 second of your time to play the move manually. Say 10 seconds if you have to fire up the app or navigate the menu in your browser. It takes way more time to preprogram the move. Therefore, this is not about saving time. The only valid reason to use conditional moves is if one knows they will be physically unavailable during the day(s) they're supposed to make a move. For example if they are on a flight, in a submarine, in a cave, on an operating table, or in the state of Vermont with its appalling cell network coverage. In pretty much any other case it's used for blatant taunting and to induce the opponent to play quickly their next move, thereby increasing the chances of a blunder. Ergo when I see it, I make sure the game will last for a long, long, looooooong time. 🙂
PS: I've never seen anybody use conditional moves when I'm about to mate them with a forced sequence. I guess their desire to save time vanishes in the face of certain defeat.

You really didn't get what I wanted to say, but English is not my mother tongue, so I try again. Programming the moves is not a time saver for me, but for the other one!
I have to do my response move anyway, no matter what. Only after I've played my first move I am only be able to program further responses. Here's an example:
I'm Black and just played Nc6. Now I can wait for your response or I can program one of the most common lines: 3. d4 cxd4. In case I've programmed the line you can immediately follow up with 4. Nxd4 as soon as you visit the game again. Otherwise you'd have to move 3. d4 and wait until I'm online again.
Now who's saving time? Not the one who's doing the programming but his opponent.

I got exactly what you wanted to say and I had already answered that in my earlier post: if I wanted to save time, I'd play bullet. Daily/correspondence is not about saving time.

Nope, you didn't get it, you confused the perspective of who is saving time and who's investing time. That's your first mistake.
Your second mistake is that you put it into the same rack as Bullet. You can take your time and invest it in several lines of conditional moves.
Your third mistake is that nobody forces you to play faster by programming moves.
Your fourth mistake is that nobody forces you to make use of conditional moves yourself.
To be honest, I seriously doubt that you even understood how conditional moves work at all.
»Daily/correspondence is not about saving time.«
No, but that doesn't mean it has to be about wasting time. Especially I don't want to waste the time of my opponent.
Nope, you didn't get that I got it. That's your first mistake. Your other mistake is that you keep presenting flawed arguments. Those two mistakes are sufficient to render your contribution irrelevant.
Any unsolicited attempts to supposedly save my time will be met by the slowest possible play afforded to me by the time controls of the game.
Is there any way to update the condtional moves with an ANY move by opponent to then follow up with a move? This would be helpful for forced mates at the end of the game. Instead of having to create conditions for every single random piece on the board that gets moved during a forced mate sequence where there is a trapped king etc.
