Connection Problems with all 3 Browsers ??

All 3 browsers I try using (i.e. Google Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer) to play Game in 5/5 are basically slowing down greatly and essentially freezing up in the last 1-2 minutes on my game clock.  What us with this??

I understand you can improve your browser "connections"  with the site?  How might I do that please?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Not an uncommon problem... there are various opinions as to the reason for it, personally i think it's v3.

Staff will generally advise to try clearing cache, cookies, browser history and all that kind of thing, but this doesn't work for most.

These two groups are admined by the site owner, he wants to hear about peoples problems with v3, it might be worth you joining one or both...

Thanks.  And yes, I always clear my browsing history, et. al. after EVERY session on my laptop, (rain or shine).

So I wonder if it might be my hardware or software, or perhaps there's too many people on the site during the holidays??

If V3 didn't habitually shift and change, and shape-shift so much, maybe I could locate that "connection link" and get some helpful information on this problem.

Thanks for your information, in any case.

not likely that either, i run an 8-core CPU on a 100+mbps line, and still i get the same.

even @MagnusCarlsen complained of "like my pieces were stuck in the mud", and i'm pretty sure his setup will be more than adequate...

For quite a while i could barely stay connected long enough to finish a blitz game, or frequently be disconnected while watching chessTV, to the point they were both unusable. I've had a few live sessions recently without disconnects, but now i get the pieces 'sticking in the mud'.

I've seen a few complaints recently in the forums about disconnects, although many users seem to think their opponent is somehow stealing their time, so the problem still exists...

Now.  I've just played two games -- the first one (using Chrome) slowed down and froze @4 minutes into the game.

So I (cursed) and went into the site via Firefox.  That frickin' game froze AFTER the site 1) took my move, 2) registered it on the board and on the clock, 3) froze up, and 4) About 60 seconds later, announced that I had abandoned the game!  Great experience, indeed.  frustrated.png

I suppose I'll just stop playing for a couple days, and hope for a miracle.  Perhaps it's my overpriced ISP?  I don't have the foggiest idea what's going on.

Same BS today, 1/2/2018.  The whole game freezes up and I lose on time, again.  What a waste of time.

Game worked fine just now (@2pm EST) using Firefox as browser.  So why is Google Chrome a problem??  Must be V3 problem (??), at least in my limited perspective.

someone else reported a speeding up by buying a premium membership...

to gambit man, i experience pieces "sticking in the mud" quite frequently. magnus even used that phrase to describe his experience in playing recently.
