Did Chess.Com just quit working on Kindle Fire?

"App version no longer supported" on my old Galaxay Player 4.0. Tried reloading to no avail.

That last post is interesting , Galaxy ( Samsung? ) playing up too? Time to start running down my outstanding games on the main computer I guess.

Same problem as the rest. Using my tablet and when I click on the app a sign appears saying the current version I'm using is no longer supported and I need to update. The Google Store doesn't have v.3.3.14 available. How can one install the latest update? As of present I can't play any online games through the app and God knows what else.

I hope Chess.com fixes this soon as it's a real pain in the a** and hopefully it doesn't happen again.

Probably the v3 app is going to be the be the newest for most people. There is a possibility that older OS versions won't support the newest version either.

Ouch! Kind of glad I didn't pull the trigger on the paid membership.

Anyone that wants clarification on it probably should open a ticket. I'm just guessing

If this is a bug - well it's only been about a day and there's only so much complaining even I can do about something I get for free. I sat through a three day power outage in 95-degree heat so - everything in perspective.

If this was a purposeful move to drop older platforms, well I'd say they don't know their customers very well and this is a 'New Coke' moment (or they do and we're just the unfortunate, unprofitable minority).

I agree, it would show a lot of class for chess.com to get this fixed quickly.

My understanding is that Support addressed the issue about 3 hours ago - not sure if people need to reinstall to get it working, but it should definitely be ok.

Still not working on my Kindle Fire , anyone else got a result?

Thanks Walter0508 , that looks like the end of Chess.com for my games then, for a while anyway. Shame.

As I said before , pretty useless through the browser.I can play on the main computer butcan't use it often enough to make it worthwhile. Guess a cheap tablet would work?

still works on a pc if you have access mate i have moved to that and v3 on i pad ,hope your able to stay on site good luckj

Thanks , I'll try. Perhaps try to run the games down for a bit , check out what cheap tablets run the Chess.com app.Shame they've given up on the Kindle though.

So unfortunately bad news for all kindle fire user. That's really sad!

Bad news indeed , v3 is virtually unusable on anything I have and can only get back to the main computer infrequently.

So will be giving up playing fpr a while when current games are over. Why can't things be left alone , if it aint broke don't fix it comes to mind.
