Embed analysis boards on other sites?

Hi all,

Is it possible for me to embed an interactive analysis board, or something similar that will allow navigation through a game and variations, on another website, say an external blog page?

You can export PGN and reload it into other sites.  I do this for lichess.  I like the analysis tool there.  (Hope I can say that here).

It's more having a movable board that I can use to talk about a game. I don't just want to export the PGN for analysis elsewhere.

Did you see the blog link I posted in OCD? I want to get a moving board in that post so people can see the game more easily.

No I’ve been away a bit.

Just use the Share icon, then Embed to get code to use elsewhere.

Ah, must be getting stripped or sanitised when I paste it into a wordpress post.

Probably need a plug-in to allow things like iframes in a post. Or maybe a Custom HTML block.

Yes, after your ppointer it seems that the free accounts are not allowed Script or Iframe sections, even in a custom HTML block. I'm using a blog hosted at WP themselves

Yes, it's possible to embed an interactive analysis board or a similar feature allowing navigation through a game and variations on an external website like a blog. Several methods and platforms offer this functionality:

1. Using Chess Platform's Embed Options:

Chess.com: Chess.com provides an "Embed" tab in their share modal that allows you to easily add any game from Chess.com to your website. You can also create your own games and annotations at Chess.com/analysis and embed them.

Lichess.org: You can embed Lichess games or studies on your blog by simply pasting the game URL or study chapter URL. Lichess automatically replaces the URL with an interactive board and movelist. You can also customize the appearance of the embedded board using parameters.

GameKnot: GameKnot offers a free interactive chess game viewer called "iChess" that you can use to publish chess games on your website or blog.

ChessBase: You can use the online ChessBase PGN publishing feature to embed their game replayer in your blog post.

2. Utilizing PGN Viewers/Libraries:

PGN Viewers: Tools like the ChessTempo PGN viewer or others mentioned in the search results allow you to embed and analyze chess games on your website using a PGN file and some HTML tags.

JavaScript Libraries: You can use JavaScript libraries like pgn4web or others to display PGN formatted chess games on your website with interactive features.

3. Exporting and Reloading PGN:

You can export games in PGN format from various platforms and then reload them into other websites that support PGN importing, effectively allowing you to display and navigate through the game on that external site.

In summary, there are multiple ways to embed interactive chess boards or game viewers on your blog:

Using built-in embed features from platforms like Chess.com or Lichess, which often require just pasting a URL or copying embed code.

Using free PGN viewers or JavaScript libraries that handle the display and navigation of chess games from PGN files.

Manually exporting and reloading PGN files on other platforms that support it.
