Found this annoying as well. Though you might as well download the entire PGN and open it up on your favorite chess application.
FEN String
Then it kind of limits the usefulness of the fen string option, doesn't it? Ok I opened up the pgn file in an external application and copied the position from there. Thank you for your reply.
A FEN string is a single-position snapshot. A pgn file is a move-by-move summary of your whole game sequence. You can play back your whole game using most any chess program. For example, download the free Mayura Chessboard program by Googling CNET Mayura. Then you can use Mayura to open your pgn file and walk through to any position and save that position as a FEN file.

Good stuff, I'll give it a go. Cheers.

Hello,
I would like to copy a position from one of my own games, but the fen string in details box (and the analyzer) is always fixed to the last position of the game. Is this supposed to be this way? If so, is there a way to get the fen string of the previous game positions ?
Thank you
