That's a strange one. Thanks for letting us know. Haven't experienced that yet but a lot of weird glitches have definitely been happening. Apparently Chess.com has been overwhelmed with usage and are upgrading their servers.

I have this experience. It happens due to someone sent you a friend request and decline it. That's why friend request doesn't exist shown it.
This happened to me as well I currently have 10 friend requests that don't exist

For me, it has been happening since the past few weeks.
At first, I assumed they were bots but they were, seemingly, active (friends/forums/daily).

Yeah it does seem like they are real humans. I dont know what exactly would cause the false friend requests tho. One morning I had like 5 when I woke up.

The cause will primarily be speculative for us, but I would assume a plausible reason would be the recent popularity of this website? As this has only started happening recently, and coincides with the DBMS issue.

I send a friend request to them and that solves the problem

Are friend requests bugged? I keep getting random ones and when I click to accept it tells me it does not exist. This happens basically every time I log into chess.com servers. I don't know of the fried request te fake or if it's he server bugging.
