Friend Requests Not Working

Something is wrong with friend requests. A while ago, I sent a friend request to caveatcanis, it sat there for about 2 weeks, so I canceled it, resent one, and he responded the next day. Now I sent one to yeres30, and it's been sitting for about a week, with no response. Why is this?

I'm going to cancel and resend to yeres30.

Idea: They're not accepting the requests. It's not a site problem, and you can't do anything about that.

When I get a friend request, and I'm using the iPad app, I do not get an opportunity to review the request, but must accept or deny instantly. Inasmuch as I receive many friend requests from low rated players whose reason for seeking friendship is neither obvious nor stated in a personal message, my default response at such times is to deny. I have denied requests from people whom I know in real life on one or two occasions a a consequence.

What I mean is, not accepting, but also not declining. I have like 8 requests sitting there that I'm just ignoring at the moment.
