I checkmated my friend but the game has frozen and will not finish. What is wrong ?

If you're talking about the game http://www.chess.com/echess/game.html?id=53318730,the game isn't over.  White does have a legal move available.  It is a special type of move called En Passant that isn't well known among more casual players.

Thanks for the reply ...casual ?...not really... we just missed it this time so late in our game but you are of course correct regarding the move.
