Game chat tracking & display
So, @weirdgerman, I guess books are off your list too? Hey, this is in Help and Support for a reason. It's for the nerds and techs out here. But it's always good to see you - my favorite antagonist and one who WHOMPS my butt at the game regularly. :-)
Oh! And I know you're going over and will continue to climb!!!

i bumped your thread so that @Martin_stahl might see it
I don't think they will add this because it will take up a ton of storage
Hey there - good to see you! How are you and Fet getting along? Such fun you both are having!!
Actually, the data already exists (timestamps both sides of the relationship) and I would be remiss if I didn't mention it. I wouldn't expect an answer on it anyway ... it is only a long-term consideration. Anyway, when I see something, I say something. :-)

Our timezones are so far apart 😭
Game chat comments are records in this (apparent) relational database structure and these chat records contain field with creation timestamp. My suggestion then based upon this assumption:
It would be helpful if, as we are reviewing a game and go backwards/forwards through the moves, the associated comments drop out of the portal list if they were added after the viewed move.
It requires an additional operator filtering that relationship using >= . An additional sort shouldn't be required since chat records are already sorted in their natural ascending creation order. Since ChessDotCom already refreshes layouts often (enough?), a layout trigger shouldn't be needed to update the portal display as moves take place.
With this additional portal filter, stepping backwards through moves (at User discretion) would drop comments which took place after that move. I know we can hover and see the chat timestamp but it really isn't helpful because we can't see the corresponding Move timestamp. Many of us like to discuss the moves during games and training sessions and it would be helpful. It would add a bit to resource requirements but I think it would be worth considering. I know I would like it. :-)
ChessDotCom has a lot on their plate and probably many items are far more important. But in design when working in a layout or functionality, it is often (almost) as easy to add two or three improvements as it is to add one and that's the only reason I'm bringing it up.
ADDED: The additional operator would match Move CreationTimeStamp to Chat Timestamp in addition to unique record ID. I don't know enough to fine-tune this suggestion further. This is all just a consideration for future.
ADDED AGAIN: As for adding a chat, that line is outside the portal and is directly related 1:1 anyway so isn't a problem and visually nothing would change. It would all be at the relational level. Future design elements such as this should always be included in Project Management considerations and I'm sure CC isn't insulted by my suggestion.
Too many 'ADDED's :-) ... simple radio button toggle can allow User to display 'all' comments or 'by timestamp' ... again simple relational filter to include. Usually relationally-filtered structures lighten (not increase) resource demands.
This entire post is based upon assumptions supported by familiarity with data management but I know NOTHING of Chess.com systems.
