Games being ended early? Bug?

I just played 2 games vs. 2 different opponents. For some reason, both games ended early to resignation by my opponents after a few moves.
Also, I had been seeking 3 diff time control games, and during the game, a small window in front of the board appeared saying a diff. time control game was starting soon. so I refreshed my browser to remove it. When I got back, my opponents resigned. Is this a bug or a coincidence?
