Got a Warning

Hey guys,

I got the 'you have a warning'-screen when telling my opponent: "I wasted a move, you can take advantage now". Doesnt sound very offensive to me. So my Q is: Does the system respond automatically to words like 'wasted'? How to prevent such warnings then?

Thanks in advance!

The culture and character of chess.com appears to be consistent.

Did you use the term "ass incarnate" at any point? Apparently one of those words is a no-no.

It seems that this thread will be a lot less vigorous than HastagNoob's posts...

Agreed. Almost certainly less "exciting" for sure.

this just gets to show how much chat filters suck - they don't really stop people who want to swear and pretty much (accidentally) only get legitimate users.

disclaimer: that's my opinion (obviously) and i am not really interested in debating it.

Nice to be nice.

I agree to that! Just wanted to know what are the do´s and dont's given such filters. i agree to their main goal, but they may indeed accidentally get the nice people - the price for being nice. I'll watch my tongue from now on. Thx

The Dutch for 'can' is the problem, they think you are trying to bypass the censor

It is easy to bypass it -- just $p377 vv0rd$ vv31rd7y or u se sp aces. That's what the bad users do

yeah, my point exactly.

I received a warning that I may be kicked or removed because in a 15/10 Standard game, there were over 6-1/2 min. remaining and my opponent didn't make a move. When the clock got to around 1-minute, I told him, "piss-poor sportsmanship on your part". Then I got the warning. Was my comment picked up by a moderator? Is it "piss-poor" form to tell the truth to your opponent?!

The dutch word over 'can' is kunt. Just like the swedish word 'slut' means the end. The number six is sex in Icelandic and other Scandinavian langues and so on..
