Greeter question.

hey.

i would like to be a chess.com greeter, but i don't understand the "max. number of games" query. is this asking me how many "welcome games" i am willing to play total, or how many games i am willing to play simultaneously?

also, this website is fanfrickintastic.

The max games seems to be max simultaneous games.

I have had 8 greeter games total, and none have gone more than 2 moves. The new member always times out. Has anyone else had this problem? 

 Its how many games you want to play simultaneous.

 This is common, not just unique to your experience.  It is a combination of multiple factors:

1. The greetee joins the greeter game with misconceptions about what it is and decides that they in fact do not want to play it out

2. They are only here for live chess, or initially want to play correspondence but then decide against it

3. They only ever log on one time 

Yes, I have experienced something similar, and was beginning to question my merits as a greeter. However, this post and others of similar ilk lead me to believe my hit-rate of 20% (3 "stayers" in 15 attempts) is not so bad! I've noticed these "one-move wonders" sometimes hang about on the site for awhile (on the day of registration), I've tried messaging and sending notes at this point, all to no avail. It seems to me, that it's the luck of the draw how many "real chess players" one gets dealt, and as a greeter our influences are minimal.

I think a Wal-mart greeter has a better record.

I don't think that 20% of their greetees stick.

Not that I am encouraging anyone to go to Wal-mart  :)
