If your password is in any way "guessable" then it's possible.
The strongest passwords are just random strings of letters and numbers, which can never be guessed. If your password is a dictionary word, or something associated with you, then it becomes possible to guess it.
Even a "strong" password could be brute-forced by a computer program in theory, but I can't imagine anyone doing this just to make a move on Chess.com
Precisely-- being a talented hacker at NSA wouldn't preclude someone from also being a cheat at chess.

I don't see why it couldn't be possible. All of this is nothing but digital information ... bits and bytes in cyberspace on some server somewhere. Change a value, a voila.
