Wow. I think this is the first thread that has so many moderators posting in it!
hey, do moderators answer our questions here?

What if a moderator answers no?

That is a great one, MGleason! What logic! For the record... IF A MODERATOR ANSWERS “NO”, I WILL KNOW THATKNOW THE ANSWER IS YES. But i will also know that chess.com moderators are a bit...you know...maybe slightly...demented?

For all you young members.....did you ever hear the famous Chess.com story entitled, "The Great Mod Slaughter of 2008"..? It happened in "off-topic". Japanese moderators slammed 2 torpedoes into the thread.....we we're coming back from "tournaments". Didn't see the 1st moderator for about 1/2 an hr.....tiger moderator.....newbie.....14 footer. The thread went down in 12 mins. At 1st light, moderators came cruisin' by, so we formed ourselves into tight groups and the idea was the mod would come to the nearest poster, and that poster starts poundin' & hollerin'......sometimes the mod would go away.....sometimes he wouldn't. Sometimes that mod looks right at ya,....right into your eyes,..and the thing about a mod is, he's got lifeless eyes....cold black eyes.....like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, he doesn't even seem to be linvin'......till he mutes you.....and those eyes roll over.....and you hear that terrible high-pitched screaming......the thread turns red and despite all you're poundin' & posting, those mods would come in and tear you to pieces. By the end of the 1st dawn, we lost 100 posters. IDK how many mods the're were.....maybe 1000......they average 6 an hr. Thurs mournin' I bumped into a friend of mine....Kayknight from the U.K. I thought he was asleep, I reached over to wake him. He bobbed up & down in the thread.....he'd been bitten in half below the waist. At noon on the 5th day a Lockheed Ventura swung in low and spotted us, a young pilot.....like the OP....and a few hrs later a big old fat poster transport started to pick us up. That was the time I was most frightened....waitin' for my turn. Our mission in off-topic was so secret, no distress signal had been sent. They didn't even list us overdue for a week I'll never wear a posting life-jacket again. So,....1100 posters went into the thread......316 came out......mods got the rest......Aug 29, 2008.
LOL!!!!
That just might be the greatest post ever!
Kudos Ron!
