Hey Ron...Im going to "Readers Digest" your post for those "Millenials" that dont get it, cant pay attention long enough, and or cant find an "app for that"

Based on the movie "Jaws" Here is a synopsis (a brief summary or general survey of something.): A local sheriff (law enforcement officer), a marine biologist (a guy that studies fish) and an old seafarer (think pirate) team up to hunt down a great white shark wreaking havoc in a beach resort.

So what Ron did was take that movie plot (the main events of a play, novel, movie, or similar work, devised and presented by the writer as an interrelated sequence.)

What he did then was replace some of the movie references (is a relation between objects in which one object designates, or acts as a means by which to connect to or link to, another object. The first object in this relation is said to refer to the second object.) with chess.com references.

If this is to long for you...oh well.

hang on...I can make this shorter...

This chick gets eaten by a shark, so this dude and his bros jack a boat.  They bust a cap in the shark.

<SIGH>  I guess i should do this for those that are easily offended.

A young lady goes swimming.  She ignores the sign posted about not ging in the water, but im sure she is very sorry.  A shark kills her.  The shark is later found, and humanely killed.  The town Constable ( I dont want to offend anyone by using an offensive law enforcement term, or give the impression i am pro law-enforcement there by making me anti any-group.)  He joins forces with other caucasion gentlemen to find the shark.

In trying to be respectful of the sharks feelings, they blow it up so it doesnt suffer.

Thanks for the synopsis, but it’s really not related to the subject. Nice story, though, maybe I should watch it.

Help this thread reach 100 posts! Or maybe 1000?
cyboo
I’d say 300 questions, 500 answers, and 200 unrelated posts.

I can’t see the video.

I guess that Brenda and the rest of the mods have retreated again.

Haven't seen much evidence of increased moderator presence.

If you're referring to a thread I recently locked, it was a borderline cases, but seemed to be drifting towards anti-religious jokes and insults.  Since it wasn't exactly a high-value or long-running thread, there seemed to be little harm in locking it.

Just because you don't see a Mod doesn't mean we are not watching.

Move along folks, there's nothing to *see*  here    (*o*)

Can we ask any question?

What is a colour?

If Rubidium turns into strontium in it's half life, can it also turn into other elements?
Why is carbon commonly black?

The reason I asked is that Brenda had said that she would be making an effort to answer user questions in the forum more regularly.

It is a myth that opening a support ticket ensures an answer from chess.com.

It would be pretty hard for me to have zero respect for anyone with religious beliefs since I'm a Christian myself.

MGleason

Some of the mods are religious, others aren't.

@ilovesmetuna, I don't get involved in the main forums very often as my main focus is the Cheating Forum.  I think I may have seen that thread in the sidebar, but never looked at it.

@RonaldJosephCote, Open Discussion is now entirely a community-run club.  Staff have nothing to do with running it; it's all up to the admins.

What so you drop this bombshell on us and don't even tell us what denomination, how long, etc. We need details! This is the chess.com equivalent of Hollywood Drama!!!
