How do I log out?

How do I log out of Chess.com once I've finished my session?

I'm using a shared computer at my local library.

I'm not sure I'm supposed to do this here, but thanks to all who posted replies. I knew there was simple answer, but boy! could I (not)  find it?

The log-out button is located in the upper-right corner of each page within Chess.com. It is just to the left of the Search box, and it may be represented by a gray "X."

Click on the "X" next to your name.

Agreed with Sunshiny. But I will add some words, Click on the "X" next to your name on the top right on the windows...

Thanks!

I know what you mean. I just spent half an hour trying to start my second ever game on chess.com. After an hour and a half with my friend, I ended up with 3 games open, the chat window working but after I had opened P-K4 (e4 these days) and the picture showing the move, nothing else did work. We gave up in frustration. Hope I don't go back to the situation next time I log in.

If a user needs to google "how to logout" from a website, then that website has serious design flaws that needs to be addressed. chees.com has exactly this flaw.
Whoever is the project manager here, please tell your developers to fix it.
PS: not blaming developers, I'm blaming the project manager(s)

Chess.com has no flaw in its design regarding the "Log Out" feature. It is now easily found by pointing to "Home," where it is prominently at the bottom of the list of options. This is much easier than it was in 2012, when the question was originally asked.

@eugeniubondari a member for less than 30 minutes and already critical?

I didn't notice that. I wonder if the member joined for the sole purpose of contributing to this tired forum topic.

Odd too, they found this to post on & nothing else 🤔

Thanks whirlwind for this answer. Could it be that this site has made it so difficult to log out on purpose?

whirlwind2011

@rubis960: I disagree that logging out is difficult. One need merely to point to "Home" in the left pane, and the option to log out is prominently displayed.

There's no X next to the right of my name

It's not there anymore. The X was the method of logging out in 2012. The site has undergone updates since then.
