how to get better

If peopl want to  get better or help other people get better they should post helpful stuff like other websites or a type of training they know or make friends with sum of the best players they know. Im new to this website so the best advice I can give you if you are new like me is to try to learn about the people and the website itself before playing someone right away.

I would spend time solving problems in a board and try to develop my tactics.

What do you need other websites for?

Seriously, at almost any level below master, the best thing one can do to get better is practice & study.  Practice you get from playing real games, and from drilling on tactics.  You can do both here.
