how to post pictures on forums and put a background on your profile

What the title says
On forums you click on the mountain:
To alter your profile bg you go to themes and there's a feature to upload any jpg picture you want.
However, it is not just your homepage here. The background will ALSO be what you see during your rated games. (Correct me if I am wrong.) So it's a horrible bug here and I wouldn't do it.
