We have brought this issue to the developers and they are investigating. It would help if people would post their hardware, their IOS operating system release and Chess.com app release if you know it.
You can put it here and we will provide to the developers. (You can also use the Contact Us link in IOS to report problems and that data is provided.)
I have the same problem for the past few days. Online challenges won't load. Keeps searching for too long.

I have the same problem. Using iOS 10 from iPad. Las release available

I updated the app and the problem got solved!

It happened once before couple years ago. Turned to be a bug in chess.com app for older iOS versions that developers fixed subsequently.
Same problem for me. iOS10.3.3 iPad4. No way to update the app. I have the last compatible version 3.8.14. I have this problem since two days around 29/03/2021.

The developers are working on the problem. Some people have been able to update their apps, which reportedly works. I know some of you have ios releases earlier than ios 11, so you can't do that.
