iPhone App almost awesome, somewhat annoying

I've been using the iPhone app to play chess to augment using the computer for a long time.  The phone app is really cool, unless I'm playing a chess game with just one person, or just focusing on one of my games.

I have to keep leaving the game to see the moves refreshed, and the sounds are tied together, so if I want to hear that the person has moved, I've got to hear clicks and pop sounds everytime I move a piece.     I want to be able to play a game, and stare at the board and be able to see the move my opponent makes without having to go off board to figure out the opponent has made a move, or set the phone to vibrate so I can get notification, which I sometimes don't hear, but the alternative is too invasive.

Can you please add better options for notification/sound management and let me have an option to observe my opponents moves live while I've got the phone observing a particular game? Please?
