Again! If anyone on iOS 3.x who's having this problem can get us a device ID (UDID), we will get you a new version to test TODAY.

It's easy to find/send your UDID, right from within iTunes: http://www.innerfence.com/howto/find-iphone-unique-device-identifier-udid

Just send that number to me (deepgreene@chess.com), and I'll get you set up with instructions on how to install the fix!

Ok, we've got what we hope is the fix for the crashing issue in the Store NOW... or soon at the very least (depends on where you are). We had to make an educated guess to fix this, based on a single crash report. Could those on you on this thread who've been having issues give it a try and shout out if it's working (or isn't)!?

Hey chess.com, instead of getting people to send you crash logs, you guys should check out Crittercism (disclaimer: I'm one of the co-founders).  It automatically sends crash logs behinds the scenes along with diagnostic data (like device type) so you don't have to get people to send dig up files on their computer.

Version 2.2.2 should be in the Store today (now even!)... We're hopeful this one addresses all of the issues with iOS 3.x.

Seems to be working alright :). Altough I haven't done a move yet (not my turn), but no crashes so far :)

I just want to say thank you to Chess.com for sorting the problem with the app udate for my old Iphone, I updated the app yesterday and it is back to normal.

I was very pleased with being kept posted on the efforts that were being made to fix it.

I hope everyone else with the old version of the iphone is now back to normal as well.

Glad it seems to be working for everyone, and thanks for your patience. We've added a couple of beta testers on older OSs now, so hopefully we won't get surprises like this in the future. :)

By the way, if anyone would like to help us test future versions, just send me your device ids at 'deepgreene@chess.com'. To get the ID number, you can either use a free app called "ShareAbout" (search for that in the Store), or follow these simple steps in iTunes:

1. Connect your device to your computer
2. Open iTunes and select your device on the left side-bar
3. On the "Summary" screen for your device, you should see a Serial Number field near the top
4. Click on the Serial Number field - it should change to show your UDID (device ID)!
5. With the UDID displayed (again, not the serial number), go to the File Menu > Copy to copy that number to your clipboard

I still have iPhone 2g (iOs 3.1.3) and can not download game in appStore as it requires ios 4.3+. Is there any way to get previous version of game?
