Is it possible to preprogram your next move in day chess or is it something fishy going on?

So i recently returned to playing chess and i've noticed that a two out of maybe 50 players i've played against quite often does a proper countermove right after i do. And i mean within less of a second.

Is there such a feature or is it something else going on?

Yes; its called conditional moves.

Everyone can use it.

Click there and give it a go!

Neat, cheers!

It's not available on the iOS mobile app, unfortunately - you would need to use Safari to connect to the web browser version and do it from there. I'm not sure about the Android mobile app, but I suspect it may be the same.

Correct, conditional moves are only available on the website (pretty sure that still is the case).
