i have noticed players appearing as offline and moving like they are online. Is there an "appear offline" mode?
Is this a site wide issue showing people offline or just me?

No, you're absolutely right Donna, I've seen the same this last couple of days, and I've actually been playing with and talking to a friend at length yesterday and she kept appearing offline although she was clearly there because we were playing and chatting. There are one two or other bugs ongoing too

Could be a bug.... thought I think the mobile phone app theory is a good one.

No this is Chess.com not meebo ..... i've just checked that issue with forums and it's weird a forum i've just posted and although it shows on recent activity it doesn't show up in the group forums :/
Chessmates the popups are because you are a basic member...
I hadn't noticed the offline-online bugs, but I haven't had time to look at it lately.
Yeah, happens to me too and others I have asked.

Yeah, I noticed it to Donna, I have a new message alert and there is no message. I did the same as you, cleared everything and yet it's still there. Hope thay get all of this fixed soon....

For the past 2-3 weeks i've only been using my mobile so what about that lol
It actually depends on how you are using your mobile phone. I play on my mobile all the time when I'm away from my computer, and I have made ten or more moves in a row against one opponent while appearing offline. On my phone I can only access C.c through the downloadable app. Other phones can actually access the site itself or have more advanced apps.

I have no chess.com app downloaded onto my phone it's just a downloaded browser. I never log off I just close the browser :>)
I look at my friends list and it is showing people as offline when i'm having conversations with them and it's the same with my groups. You look at members online and it shows them online yet click on their profile and they are offline. I've logged out and back in even cleared my cookies and browsing history yet it's still the same. Is anyone else having this issue today?
