Sorry in advance if this isn't the proper place to post this, but if there's a correct place, I couldn't find it.

The conduct of RainbowRising on the public forums is unacceptable.

I mean you're an argumentative, stubborn, ignorant little twerp who is arguing with myself and a NM, both of whom have more and significantly more knowledge than you, respectively. Is that clear enough for you to understand?

This was an unwarranted attack on another member for simply posting lines of analysis and trying to defend their validity. RainbowRising has insulted other members because of their skill level (yes, he's done it to me), and this is unacceptable - no member should be insulted because of their skills. This is a LEARNING community, not a place for the arrogant to trample on the meek.

Once again, sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I just feel that something has to be done about this member.

I don't believe there is a proper place for a post such as the one you just made. If the behavior of another member is unacceptable, press the report abuse button and get the owners of the site involved.

If you take general offence with the tone of the forums start a general discussion.

Singling people out and trying to encourage a hate threat is in my opinion just as unacceptable as "trampling the meek".

According to erik,

There are a few simple rules for posting on Chess.com.

#1 - Respect others. Do not be mean.

It would seem to me that this is against the rules, so perhaps a staff member should step in on this issue.

Report Abuse <- this link is at the bottom of every page to handle these issues :)

You know, sure, okay, so he might've said something rash.

Well, truth of the matter is, so have all of us, sometime or another.

Gosh, if bannination was the fate of everyone who said something misspirited on this site, well, I would've been banned ages ago, because I've said some really cruel things to other people on here time and again.

And you know what? I felt bad the next day, usually. All I'm saying is, is that sure, if we're a community here and what not, sure, we're going to say things the odd time, come to blows and all that, yes.

But in the spirit of keeping this a friendly community, as the original poster must be hoping, that also involves not unduly centuring people too.

I'm not sure if you've had brothers or really close friends, but I'm betting if you have you've said some pretty heavy stuff to them also.

The community doesn't benefit from heavy censoring. That said, we also ought to keep ourselves in line.

I've been away for a long time as far as trying to give my balancing effect to these forums. Maybe we're missing something of the sort - community leadership - and maybe the intense sniping is an aftereffect of that.

Reporting abuse should be a last ditch effort. I implore you - should you want to improve the tone around here, step it up yourself. Step in in these instances and jovially reduce the tone, all in all bring what you can to the equation.

This is our site. And we should be adults enough not to require mediation at slight insults. Be a leader. Demonstrate the tenor you'd like the site to take.

Who knows? Maybe people will follow your lead.

Don't run to the site administration should someone be called a twerp. We're all better than that...

Ironically, RainbowRising is a very peace-loving and neighborly member - despite his rampant taunts toward other members of the site.

Amen to that Rael.

I'd like to point out that although RainbowRising's delivery is sometimes hostile, his points are generally well-founded.

I'm sure everyone would be satisfied if he reduced his speech for "child-safe" browsing.

Do you guys realize how old this post is by now? It isn't even relevant anymore. . .
