no but you could increase rating by a team wining a match against other team. every person that participated in the team match will increase rating. if there is more people then the other team we would have more higher rated people. higher rated people join the tournaments quick.

higher rated people want to increase rating. they participate in almost every match. if there's more people. higher rated people join.

So basically the good players are atracted to masses of people, so you want your group to have a lot of people in order to atract good players to the group. is that rigth?
