Sorry you're having connection issues! I've sent you a message to try to help you get this figured out.

It is interesting that sever connection can be lost with <40 ms ping to chess.com.

This keeps happening to me too. What did you do to fix it?

yogasoulja

Well... I tried loweing my security settings.. Didn't work. I have stopped using the iapd app because it was really disconnecting like every 3 min. I can get thru a game about 75% of the time in the browser... But i've been restricted for the other 25% of the time. I can't say this is my fault at all. All other browser appa seem to work fine. :(

For anyone else experincing dropping over wifi. Change your security to wpa if its set to wpa2, you can try setting to channel 1 or 2 instread of auto. Try to avoid ios 6 if your on an isomething and delete the chess.com app. After much trouble i have live chess working.

The problem lies on the internet connection. What connection are you using? (i.e, broadband, wifi etc.)

yogasoulja

Wifi but its fixed now.It was more then one problem. There is an issue with the ios 6.0.1 and wifi, there is a connectivity issue with chess.com ipad ipod app, and there is another issue with wpa2 and some devices.

yogasoulja

The problem is a wifi issue but it's only noticeable on applications that require a constant connection like live chess or a skype call. You won't notice the fast drop and reconnect during browsing or even streaming that is why it appears like a chess.com issue... But also there is certainly issues with the ipad app that is not a wifi issue, but i believe this is already well understood.

on top of TCP, the protocol for the transmission control, are other layers and quite a few reasons could cause that the situation is interpreted as a lost connection.
