Kicked from Live Chess

Hi, this is Derek.

Today I was kicked from live chess because I swore when my mouse slipped and I lost the game when I was clearly winning. Then I swore in chat and a moderator kicked me. I apologize for swearing. I really want to get back to live chess as chess is my main hobby and I have paid money to utilize this website's tools. Also, how long is the duration which I am banned from Live Chess? If you could answer my question, it would really help.

Thank you

Why swear, man?  Just chess :/

Well, the guy I was playing against was a real !@#$ and kept on taunting me ingame. Then I lost, so you should know how I'm feeling.

If you're being abused, please send in a ticket so that we can handle the abuse properly.

As for the kick- it was most likely a 30 minute duration.

If you swear in a game the system itself kicks you for 30 minutes

If you swear verbally out loud, that can usually be a spontaneous reaction.

If you deliberately take the time to write down abuse or swear words and send it through the ether then you have obviously thought about what you are doing. No excuse, no sympathy. There's far too much abuse and swearing tolerated on this site. It comes from small minds with small intellect and a limited vocabulary.

That's harsh. I bet you even Einstien dropped an "F" bomb from time to time.

I tend to copy my swears to clipboard so I can issue them spontaneously with Cntrl+V ;)

bots are not the ideal way to deal with swearing; if you really want to make this site a better place (and a place where people can meet and have an open discussion) try something else; I'm not saying I have the solution, I'm just saying that today I got kicked while having a friendly conversation just because I used the "f" word...Seriously? Everything else is solved and foul language is our greatest problem?

I`ve been kicked out from Live Chess because I swore when I`ve almost lost the match against someone. I knew that he will not see what i`ve told him, but it was just my frustration and I had to let it go, lol... :) So, i`m kicked out permanently from Live Chess or it is just some temporary ban?

Avatar of ProudProphet

stupid policy. taunting can be part of the game.

If you have nothing nice to type. Than say nothing at all.

Kids play on this site.

They don't need some adult throwing around swearing words at them.

Even if your joking. It is no excuse.

If you grew up on a boat with a bunch of sailors swearing at each other. Good for you. It does not give you the right to do the same thing to other people.

If a parent heard you cussing at there child in person.

You would get decked/punched right between the eyes.

Freedom of Speech? HA You are not speaking. You are typing.

Typing on a chess site with typing rules!

Frankly, I believe this 30 min ban nonsense is not enough.

They should have there chat muted permanently.

This is good advice.

This is utter nonsense.
Anyone who instantly reacts with physical violence to mere words is a criminal thug who has no control over his own agressive tendencies and will be in prison sooner or later.
That is not the type of person you would typically meet on the steet having a walk with their child.
