Live chess lagging/kicking off?

Never had this happen before, but during my last bullet game experienced huge lag spikes and eventually kicked off the server and lost the game. During the times when I was 'lagging out', including the final one which was over 30 seconds, I was able to load all pages including the chess.com homepage in a separate tab, and then having lost the game I wasn't able to load back into the live server for a couple of minutes, even refreshing the page. Does anyone have any idea what might have caused this? I'm aware that I very occasionally get spikes at my end, but this doesn't sound like one of those to me. Many thanks

Yup... Apparently interferes with the servers! 4 bar connection and I'm losing time because I'm 'lagging out' even though my connection to the normal chess.com server is fine (I can load any page). It's bizarre...

The regular webpages have some distributed locations (hosted in a content delivery network), so you may be hitting servers closer to you when not loading Live. Live, on the other hand, is only loaded out of the site's data center in California. So, you can experience lag there that you wouldn't experience elsewhere.

Ah that is helpful, thanks. Although based on some of the bullet games I've been just watching it looks like a lot of the connections to the server at the moment might be having some issues... even some Americans getting significant lag spikes. I'm guessing that means somewhere in the Aus-US server connection is overloaded in my case though?

Not overloaded, but somewhere between you and the Live server there is probably an issue causing the lag.

This lag has resulted in causing loss of about 30% of the thousands of games I have played. It it extremely frustrating.
