There are three "online indicator" icons that can be seen by player's names:
- Green: Member is currently online on the main site.
- Green "LIVE": Member is logged into Live Chess.
- Red "LIVE": Member is connected to Live Chess and currently in a game.
If you want to play Live (real-time chess - blitz, etc.) then ideally, your friend would be showing a green "live" indicator - i.e. they are in Live Chess but not playing at the moment.
The regular green indicator means that they are online (or very recently online) somewhere else (anywhere except the live chess server) on the site.
