You could contact support directly to ask. Since it wasn't site specific caused issue there probably won't be any automatic refunds.

Why do they give 50% offers but don't let us try it out over the weekend? No staff, internal server errors, and diamond is now twice as much. How do they expect to get paying customers this way?

If the support tool did not say you would be contacted by staff, then no.

2 weekend days would be good limited time. You have a 48 window of time on Saturday and Sunday to try out the paid features. During the week, you will be working or going to school. The weekend gives you time to try it.
