Lost game by abandonment
You were about to lose your Queen on the next move, not checkmate him !
Game shows you were in check and abandoned. Perhaps you lost your internet connection.
If you give me a link to the game I can take a look. Without that I am not sure how to help

Thanks, martin, I will put in a ticket to check logs, but the fellow who normally does that for me is on vacation. Might be a minute. I will report back if this is something different than a connection issue.
It keeps happening to me
I don't understand

same happened to me and i have excellent connection. Terrible support by chess.com
Your local connection is only part of what can cause a disconnect. It can also be caused by problems between you and the site. Or it can be abandoned if you take too long on a move before the completion of the 10th move.

Hi, I was just streaming a game against rexmcgavin and was given a loss due to abandonment however I know it wasn't my connection because my stream was still on and other sites were working however, Chess.com was not. I was leading in the match and was wondering if there was a way to at least take off the loss.

Just because you were still connected to other sites does not mean that your connection to the chess.com site was working. The traffic takes different paths.
Is there a way I can avoid this from happening in the future?
If it's a problem between you and the site, not really. It's possible it's caused by other traffic or processes on your local network/system, so minimizing those could prevent that from contributing to potential connection issues.
Martin... what you are saying is not true at all. If other sites are loading fine and chess.com is not then the problem is on chess.com side. I am a software architect and program websites for a living so I know a lot about this. I just lost two games due to this abandonment rule and am not impressed by it either.
