Not sure what these members are.  Am I a member of a group .... and I don't think I am missing, or have i not been invited to the Group in Question?

If they had a Facebook account, with the Chess.com app installed there, they may have been incorrectly counted twice, and now that the site has corrected the count, it appears like you lost members when you did not in reality.

Also, if a member is in two opposing groups when a Vote Chess game starts, they will not be able to join the game until they quit one of the groups.  If this activity concerns you a great deal, you may want to maintain a roster of members so that you can message them when they drop from the rolls.

chess.com did an update thing and every player that closed their account or their account was closed for cheating was kicked out of groups.

Yes I have heard this too

It is actually a good thing because you have a realistic view of how many players are in your group

this has left many groups w/o super admins though...

If a super admin deletes their account then returns they slip back into their position upon returning.

the issue of lots of members being lost is explained in my own forum thread:

I have already messaged staff asking the same question and they confirmed that the drops in numbers is due to deleted accounts and banned cheating members being removed automatically from the groups

Usually if you have not made team matches in a while, people quit.
