Muted

I got muted and I dont know for how long? i didnt realize I couldnt curse, and it said I was muted. is it permanent? 

You should be able to chat again. Please just remember that we don't allow vulgar language on the site. 

I got banned for discussing an anatomical subject -- I'm a doctor (not a medical doctor but I've been in the medical field for 20 plus years).  I was discussing a medical topic, used an anatomical term and got banned.  I was irritated beyond belief, especially when people use all sorts of systems to get around it such as using spaces or dashes and we all know what they mean.  Yet I get banned for discussing a medical topic and using the proper anatomical term. 

If that wasn't enough, when my membership ran out and I once again got ads, I kept getting ads with a nude lady in them.  (It was for some gaming thing, I guess since I AM a gamer and play several games, I was getting this particular ad).   I complained about it and I've been assured that said ad is gone.  Phew!   In any event, I was glad I was taken seriously although I AM still a little irked for getting banned when discussing a medical topic.

you still didn't answer his question either. is it permanent or do we have to beg for our rights back? not likely to stay a paying member here if we aren't allowed to joke around a bit when kibbitzing.

Of note, if you are in a game in live and you say something with just the two of you, you don't get muted. Someone used the f word with me (they said they f-ed up and used the real word). I wasn't offended. I try not to use that language but I will admit that I slip from time to time. I one tried so hard not to say a-- one day. I was so wanting to say a particular move "bit me in the a--" but being I didn't want to swear I said a word that is a very cute word for your rear end in the states but has an entirely different meaning in Europe. Cripes! My friends on the site (some of whom are European) haven't let me live that down! I'll say one thing... Got me over my frustration of the game in question and I laughed until tears were rolling down my cheeks!

Well as far as I know, in England and also in Ireland. I don't know about other European countries. I'm now very careful about saying it to anyone outside of the states.

I was trying to ask how I was a pussy because they said that I was a pusssssyyyyy and gayyyyy and I got muted what is up with this. How long will I be muted because now I can not chat with my brother thaty lives in lousianna. Help me out someone.

i am still muted for a few offensive somments earlier how long is this going to last

                   Chess.com rotates the moderators, so let's see, looking at the schedule it could have been 627, or 726, 525, 896, 124, or 321,NO! 321 has been on vacation for 11 years. Then there's the part time week enders, 723, 793, 766, Can you keep a secret?  All the weekend mods start with 7. If they end with a 7, then the're a female, if they start with a 5, then its a male. Now if they start AND end in a 9?  Then you have a problem. THAT'S A SUPERVISOR. All the mod impersonators are in the 400's. If it happened at night, I'm gonna have to direct you to another department. If it happened in the winter, I KNOW EXACTLY WHO your taking about. Unfortunately THAT mod doesn't work here any more. We did hire her brother the following week. Nice guy. Where was I??  OH!, wheather it is nobler to take the slings and arrows of our mod staff, or wheather we should just randomly pull names out of the hat. THAT is the question that befalls us here and now. I'll check the video tape and get back to you.
