It seems that calling somebody a kid is considered an insult on these forums, both by the person who's being insulted and (more interestingly) by the person delivering the insult. It's as if kids are now the ultimate symbol of (perceived) stupidity, meanness, hostility...

I realize that but I also realize we're all imperfect humans that say things out out of anger, frustration..etc. Calling me a kid because I chose to defended myself against someone that insulted me seems childish in itself. And you are acting high and mighty.
also, turning the other cheek everytime isn't exactly what a grown up person should do. You teach your kids to stand up for themselves and not take anything from someone unless you want them to grow up to be sissies.

I wasn't offended; I just felt the need to reply and defend myself. I agree that you shouldn't really get offended by words in most circumstances but a person should defend themselves.

They are words...there is no such thing as an offensive word. A word becomes offensive when you empower them. Dont react, and the remain...just a word.
