My chess games keeps aborting at times?

Aborting is the word used to describe canceling a game on the first move.
What happened to you is a disconnection forfeit. Chess.com shows that you abandoned the game.
It does happen, even to people with strong wifi. All networks have strong and weak connection points when you are moving around and when other traffic hogs the bandwidth.
Everyone always starts their own threads so we other users have no real idea of how much of a problem it really is.
Chess.com says that there are 10,000 plus users online at any given time. A few people post problems like yours every day.
Is it a big problem?
We don't know. I have a wired connection and have never had the problem.
/ If it happened to me, I would report it in a low rating at the Play Store or wherever you download your app from. They do appear to pay attention to low ratings, occasionally.

I also wonder on devices using wifi that also have cellular data how often the system switching connection methods might play into disconnects. Or just give some kind of interference causing the problem?
There still seems to be a weakness in seeing the disconnect at times and the app/client not forcing a refresh. Don't know how common it is though as pointed out in the above.

Your opponent can't impact your connection.
Traffic goes something like this: Client1 > Live Server (handles the moves, lag calculations, then sends the time, move, and status and messages to the next client) > Client2. Then reverse and repeat.
The two clients don't directly contact each other. Disconnects are caused by client issues, something in the network chain between the client and the live server (router, modem, ISP, any of the many hops), and finally the live server itself could potentially cause issues.
There are some steps that can be taken on the client end to minimize issues. For a full computer client, disabling Flash for the site is a good first step and don't run tabs with Flash content, especially streaming content. Read through the following too:

Why do I lose point ? When aborting ? That’s really not fair… it’s been ten games I’m about to win and it’s aborting and losing point…

If you abort too often, you lose the ability to do so and all games are rated.
