I am afraid there`s nothing to be done about it. It is the director`s right to remove a player without explaining anything. Could you please provide me with a link? I wanna be sure I won`t join his/her tournament. What happened with your games in progress after you had been removed?
My removal from a tournament
I would think the TD would have to explain it.
Agreed i don't think they can Rig these tournaments for a certain winner with all the Fair play policies on this site.
I have directed some tournaments but I have never removed anyone. Consequently, I don`t really know how it works. But I can remove a player even after I had been eliminated. It is very rude to remove someone without explaining it but the TD doesn`t have to explain anything.

That would leave the door open for a lot of abuse for sure,to be honest that is really surprising i don't blame the OP for being upset after investing your time and energy in these tournaments and get to the title match and stop right there GOTTA be a rule change !
THE TD OFTEN WILL REMOVE A PLAYER FOM A TOURNAMENT FOR REASONS SUCH AS ==NO VACATON TIME ALLOWED== A RATING TOO LOW== OR TIME BETWEEN MOVES
or being rude and insulting to the TD or players.
It is their event to manage and run. Much like any resturant with signs that signs that say "we have the right to refuse service to anyone"
But if you were in a real tournament, and had done nothing wrong, would the TD be able to throw you out just for the hell of it?
why would a TD through anyone out randomly? its not like they have a die they throw and say player X will be thrown out. I would be willing to bet that there is another side to this story. If someone was insulting to me I might do that but it takes a lot to provoke me.

He implied he hadn't, and that's what happened to him.
@Conflagration_Planet and mateologist, you are right! The TD can advance to a next round (or even win their tourney) by removing a couple of players. I reckon someone should ask the Chess.com staff about it. All I know is that when I am a TD I can remove any active players I wish by clicking the
button (TD section - manage players). The system would ask me whether I am sure I want to withdraw XY from the tournament. I have never used the button but when I hover my mouse over it I can see javascript stuff (javascript:confirmDelete ...).
I think all their games in progress will be lost and there`s gonna be "removed" or "withdrew" next to their username in the list of players. I would say TDs shouldn`t be allowed to remove anyone when their tourney started.
I disagree , TDs should have the power to remove a player if they want to. Of course they should also let the player know why.. If they are just doing it "because" then ya thats just wrong morally, nothing you can do about it but let people know and not join their events.
Here is a link to a tourny called "chess" that ended because the TD removed the next highest player and so won the tourny. Couldn't find the specific tournament talked about here, but I definatly will not join a tournament hosted by rabbit611!
Go on players and take a look...Does that look like something any TD should be able to do anytime they want?!?

After I had qualified for the final round of a tournament, the TD (who else?) removed me from the tournament and awarded first place to the other finalist. No reason was given to me for the removal. The TD has not responded to my request for an explanation. Can anything be done about this injustice? The name of the tournament is "Chess", and there were four players in it.
