New Game Analysis Issues

Anybody know what's up with the Game Analysis feature lately?

First of all, instead of showing the intial series of moves as book moves, I immediately see moves labeled as inaccuracies. For example, 1... c5?! is shown by Chess.com analsis as an inaccuracy instead the opening a book move for the Sicilian. Likewise 2. c3?! is once again displayed as being inaccurate instead of a step into the Alapin.

Also, I'm suddenly seeing openings not fully labled, just generically. For example, everything is suddenly being labled as simply Sicilian Defense instead of Sicilian Defense: Alapin Variation or Sicilian Defense: Alapin Variation, Barmen Defense.

Nobody else has noticed these issues? Some kind of new bug? I switched from Fritz analysis to Chess.com because I found the latter more comprehensive, but am now thinking of switching back.

Thanks!

I think the first problem is that you need an engine to analyze your games. Maybe this is new because I'm not a diamond member, but it has always done the same for me. It also game me motivation to not use engines, but that's another story.

The problems with the analysis engine here have been ongoing for months now. The staff just doesn't care. Or else they haven't received enuff complaints to make fixing it a priority item. Whatever software they're using obviously needs to be reinstalled, repaired or replaced.

BUT I will have to say that the dam thing is still more than adequate for demonstrating all of my tactical blunders and missed opportunities and it is better than nothing. For anyone who has one or more decent free engines at home (Houdini 1.5, Komodo 3, Rybka 2.2 etc) on a halfway decent PC (64-bit and/or multi-processor with 4 GB RAM or more) the chess.com analysis is pointless.

So apparently not a temporary hitch? Too bad, as their analysis used to be quite good. Some kind of apathy creep? Ah well, it's back to the engines then.
