Not getting any elo points for wins!! WTH!

Tnullhis is a screenshot of the rapid games that I have played. As you see, after the 2nd from top game, the elo was higher then what it was after I won the following game as well. How is that possible? It happened after one more game (which was played after the screenshot was taken), where the points from the won game didn't to the elo tally.

What is happening?

Staff may run across this here but as I posted in the other topic a bug report or ticket would be best.

I explained how to do a bug report but a ticket can be entered here: https://support.chess.com/customer/portal/emails/new if you would rather go that route.

jdcannon

That pretty weird. I created a bug report for our developers to look at!

@jdCannon Any update on the issue?

jdcannon

A developers are discussing what would have caused this, but no resolution yet

I assure you that one way or the other I will add your points back that you didn't get. I just don't want to monkey around with your rating while the developers are investigating.

JayeshSinhaChess

Great. Thank You.

@Jdcannon - Hey, its been over 10 days on the issue and there have been no updates. I don't know how long it takes to look at a bug, so I don't know if this is the right point to send a sort of reminder message or not. However I do request some clarity on this please.

@JdCannon - Hi, I tried sending you message drectly, but I guess you are not checking your messages. Anyway, you have updated 10 elo points for Rapid, however I should have 11 more as becuase of the bug I was short 21 elo points.

If you see in screenshot above, after the win against sudjatmiko I had 1392 elo, However when I played the game against SJP1997 the elo for me was registered at 1379 which is what it was after the win again 0ptini. That is why after adding the 6 elo points following the win against SJP, the elo total for me registered at 1385. However the base elo for that game was wrong.

So the 6 elo should have been in addition to 1392 not 1379, and so the elo after the win again SJP should have been 1398.

Then I got 8 elo points for winning against fbfbdbbbdbd which were summed up against the wrong elo of 1385 and not 1398 which it should have been. So at the end of that game, the elo I had should have been 1406.

Then I got 9 points for the win against BB-Bison which again was summed with the wrong elo of 1393 and I had 1402 elo when it should have been summed to 1406 to get the elo of 1415.

Then I got just 3 points increase after the win against cymh3005 even though he was well over 150 point higher elo than me. I have metioned this in the thread as well https://www.chess.com/forum/view/help-support/not-getting-any-elo-points-for-wins-wth that there was another game from which the points were not given. The game was the top most one in this pic.

Now I have very sure I should have more points than just 3 for defeating some that much higher elo than just 3. So please look into how many extra points I should have at the end of that game. Should be at least 10 points from a win like that if not 11. So 11 points should then be summed to the elo of 1415, which puts the elo I should correctly have had at the end of this whole long chain of games was 1426 while I had 1405.

So I had 21 elo points less than what I should have had. Sorry about the long post but I had to explain the chain. So since you ahve increased the elo I have by 10, there is still an elo 11 points deficit. So long story short, please increase the elo by 11 more points and then this whole thing would have been settled.

Guys you are literally going to keep ignoring this issue? I have posted multiple times for over three weeks without any response from your end. Come on chess.com team, feel I should atleast get an update on how the issue on this bug is going. Also if you just increase the rapid elo by 11 points, I feel the issue would have been resolved.

Martin_Stahl

It only takes a few games for those 11 points to average out and your rating to be at essentially the same place without them, assuming the actual rating calculations would provide that many to begin with.

Getting those points added won't make any real difference to anything in the long run.

JayeshSinhaChess

I know, but its just about what's right. I feel I should get 11 elo points on chess.com for rapid, and till then I won't buy a diamond membership like I was planning on doing before this.

This is the first case I've ever seen where chess.com reportedly did a retroactive adjustment.

I thought they had a blanket policy to not do that or they would have tens of thousands of requests for adjustments. (Reflecting all the players who get banned for fair play violations.)

I think that they won't change the result for anything (cheat, lag...) but I guess that if there is a software bug changing it is logical.

@ciarli - Must have been a hell of a party where you wrote all that.
