Pieces are the wrong color.

My pieces when I play are seemingly the wrong color. When I play as white, I move first but the pieces look black, and the opponents are white. I've tried changing the style of the pieces and looking around for anyone with a similar issue but couldn't find a solution. Any help with this would be super appreciated. Very weird, mybe you put in settings white always down or something but today chess.com have been weird and it takes seconds or even minutes on the page opening becuase like LITERALLY 30 MILLION+ MEMBERS so it might just be the page failing a lot . maybe tomorrow it fixes, just like sometimes youtube does.

Just tried the white always bottom setting, no change. I haven't been playing online for very long but its been like this since I started.

Try clearing your browser cache.

Turns out it was my darkreader extension that I thought I had turned off previously because it made my board not show up. It was still running in some capacity and upon deactivating it everything is working as normal. 

I had "force dark theme on pages" enabled on browser.. made the same issue !

turning it off fixed the colors on the board

My pieces would be the oppisite color (ex: im playing as white and my pieces show up as black and likewise) I just had to turn off dark mode in the browser settings and that was all. Hope this helped you >!
